These pictures of Rocket Man were
taken last fall when he was a yearling. We had just gotten him home and we
wanted to get some registration pictures of him, so the pictures are a little
rough. This guy has a lot of potential, he has the breeding behind him and
he is going to mature into a very nice breeding stallion.
The pictures below are of his sire, Candy Spot RDS.
Even with an oversized halter he looks good. His owner, Bob Shuler, showed
quite a bit back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. They bred Queen Ann's Jet
who I feel is arguably one of the best Pinto Classic Shetlands ever bred.
Bob and his brother used both Queen Ann's Jet and Supreme Surprise as their
foundation to their herd. Painted Red was sired by Supreme Surprise and
was out of a Queen Ann's Jet mare. Painted Red won the Congress
Championship back in the 90's. The Schuler's line breed and have not added
any outside blood to their breeding program in the last 20 years. They
have a small herd and have maybe 6-8 foals a year.
